More Tips for Zero Waste Events

Additional factors for Zero Waste success at your event:

Contained Event
The more your event is isolated from outside restaurants and retailers, the less outside contamination you're likely to receive. If your event is only handing out recyclable or compostable materials, but is located inside a much larger shopping area distributing non-recyclable and non-compostable products, your event will be much more challenging in terms of reaching Zero Waste.

Event Layout
Food vendors are the primary sources of materials consumed and discarded onsite. It is ideal to group the Zero Waste stations around the food vendors and eating areas. Grouping food vendors into a single area and providing an eating area for visitors allows for the best density of Zero Waste stations where they're needed. Scattered food vendors result in a much more difficult Zero Waste event.
